Shawna Henderson

Welcome!

I am a chai drinking lover of words who has wanderlust deep in her soul. Ever since I was a little girl, I have had a passion for reading, writing, and exploring. I am interested in freelance writing or professional reading opportunities.

In 2019 I decided to advance my education to prepare myself for my next chapter as an empty nester. My goal is to travel the globe while sharing my travel experiences, the books I'm reading, and the writing I'm working on.

I recently completed my Bachelor of Arts in English with an Emphasis in Professional Writing. I learned different types of writing techniques that have helped me to grow my own writing.

My experience as a stay-at-home mother and a community volunteer for the last twenty years has provided me with a wealth of knowledge relating to raising children, event planning, fundraising, and travel planning. You name it – I am a woman with many talents.

Continuing with my passion for reading, I have participated in The Tucson Festival of Books for multiple years. Currently, I am the Friday Night Event Co-Chair, which is a dinner event that hosts 900 people, including approximately 90 authors. 

My family and I enjoy traveling, movie nights, and hanging out in the sunshine. In my free time, I am an avid reader who enjoys many different genres – my favorites being historical fiction, fantasy/sci-fi, and romance. I am currently working on a fiction novel.
